The Woven Housing Organization

The Woven Housing Organization Teams up with the Little Burgundy District Since Housing Destruction is Approved: The Last Chance for Justice

For generations residence have been living in the Little Burgundy district with their family and friends. Recently, the residents have been forced to vacate their homes and leave their memories behind. The Woven Housing Organization has sent their legal director and team to provide support, resources, and paralegal services.

The Woven Housing Organization: 

  • The organization sends their director and team to help support the community
  • They provide support to people being evicted
  • Paralegal services
  • Housing applications
  • Advocate for transition homes

The Events:

  • Weekly events throughout November
  • Based at city councils in different districts of MontrĂ©al
  • Rick McKeen main spokesperson will be speaking at all events 
  • Goal is to bring awareness to the housing issues, make changes to the housing policy and advocate for better rights

Little Burgundy

  • The housing in this little community is being torn down to upgrade to new low-income housing
  • Residences are struggling to find an affordable living situation
  • Forced to move into unsafe homes and others are becoming homeless.

Housing Policy

  • The housing policy addresses the need for improving current and future housing projects
  • Includes legal actions, legislation, and programs
